Walter Brooks Bradley established the Bradley Funeral Home,  in 1947 after returning from military service in WWII.

During his military career, Mr. Bradley was involved in the development of cemeteries for soldiers who died in combat during the war in the European Theater. Upon returning  from duty, he married Virginia Lloyd Bradley, where they established the funeral home as it stands today in the Dundalk Community of Baltimore County. Upon Mr. Bradley’s death in 1984, Mrs. Virginia Bradley, as a licensed funeral director herself, operated the business until 1989 when she decided to retire. At that time, she sold the business to Peter Sterling Ashton.
