Tripolitis Obituary
Ekaterini “Nina” Tripolitis, 87, passed peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, October 12th, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland with her son and granddaughter by her side. Nina was born on February 28th, 1938 in Rhodes, Greece. In the village of Trianta, Nina was one of 6 to parents Stavros and Varsamoula Anastasakis. She met and married her husband Verveniotis in Rhodes. They shared two children, Joe and Loula.
Coming to America, she was a proud member at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Baltimore, Maryland. She was passionate about the community, sharing her love through volunteering and cooking. She was very involved in the Philoptochos and could be found cooking for festivals or baking bread for services with her granddaughter. The cookies she made and grape leaves she grew touched so many community members. She will be remembered for her love of her faith and her family.
For years, she was a seamstress for Haas Tailoring in Baltimore.
Nina is survived by her children Joseph and Argeroula (Manoli); grandchildren Michalis (Chrysoula), Katerina (Christos), and Evangelia; great grandchild Ioanna; and her younger siblings Marietta and Kosta.
She was preceded in death by her husband Verveniotis and siblings Andreas, Petros, Anastasi.
Her memorial will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. The 11AM service will be followed by the cemetery procession. Location information below.
