ANTONAS, GEORGE A.

    On December 27, 2018, George A. Antonas, beloved husband of the late Frances M. Antonas (nee Minadakis), devoted father of Karen T. Malonoukos, Toni M. Antonas, and Leah G. Antonas, dearest brother of Nicholas Antonas and his wife, Mary, loving grandfather of Gabriela, Paul, George and Luke. He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
     The family will receive guests on Sunday from 3 -5 & 7 -9 p.m. at the funeral home, where a Trisaghion Service will be held at 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held on Monday from 10 -10:30 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 Cub Hill Road, Parkville, MD 21234, a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
      Mr. Antonas served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, where he was stationed in Germany. He earned a BS and Masters Degree with a double major in Biology and Education from Western Maryland College (presently McDaniel College). He spent 40 years as an educator serving at Kenwood High School for a short time, then to Patapsco Senior High for most of his career as Department Chairman and Athletic Director. He coached Varsity Soccer and basketball, taking the soccer team to the state championships. He had most recently been inducted into the Patapsco Hall of Fame. He also worked for a time as Manager and Lifeguard at the Wilson Point Swim Club. Mr. Antonas was a hard working man, who dedicated his life to his family and his love of education. He had the determination to make success of whatever he touched for the good of himself and his family.
