On January 8, 2016, Maria Sfikas, age 89, beloved wife of the late Argyrios Sfikas, devoted mother of Ekaterini Akalestos and her husband, Emmanuel, dearest Yia Yia of Maria Akalestos and Nikoletta Akalestos. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 -5 & 7 -9 p.m. at the funeral home, where a Trisaghion Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 520 S. Ponca Street, Balto., MD 21224. Interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
