Ramon Baker Obituary

Ramon Baker , known as Ray by friends , beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17th at the age of 70.

He was the devoted father of Rachel Baker and Stephanie Elliott (née Baker), and proud grandfather to Brayden Elliott, Brock Elliott, Miles Miller, Kevin Miller, and Mia Weaver. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Ramon was preceded in death by his father Vincent Baker, his mother Rose Baker, and his younger brother Ronald Baker. He is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Ray spent much of his life as a crane operator at Bethlehem Steel, beginning his career there in the 1970s. He later worked in security at the port, where he was well known and respected, especially among the many truck drivers he befriended.

For the past 20 years, weekends in Atlantic City were his favorite escape — a place filled with laughter, good friends, and unforgettable memories. It was there, among the ocean breeze and familiar faces, that he found joy and peace.

He attended Our Lady of Hope and Mount Carmel schools, where he played basketball and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Known for his warmth, humor, and kind heart, Ray had a gift for making people feel welcome — no one was ever a stranger in his presence.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be held at his favorite beach bar in Atlantic City and at one of his favorite restaurants in Dundalk , at a later date., TBD. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
