FERGUSON, SHERRIE L.

Sherrie Lynn Ferguson, 62, of Baltimore, MD, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on January 25, 2017. Born September 15, 1954, she was a native and long-time resident of Birmingham, Al, and lived many years in Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, MI areas as well. Known to many as “Momma Sherrie”, she was a supportive, honest friend and was generous with her attention, compassion and advice. She was a phenomenal cook, and enjoyed hosting get-togethers for family and friends. She was a talented artist with gorgeous, distinctive handwriting. As a tender-hearted animal lover, rescuing and caring for animals was a priority throughout her life, and she had many beloved pets. She was a dedicated, strong-willed woman who gave everything she cared about her all. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lela Mae Horkheimer of Belleville, MI, father, William Weaver Ferguson of Birmingham, AL, half-brother, William Ferguson, Jr. of Pell City, AL, and many beloved friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Ryan Linthicum of Baltimore, MD, cousins David Harris (Deanna), Veronica Harris, Leanna Harris of MI, Half-sister Janet Roberta of Helena, AL, and many wonderful friends. Memorial  Services will be held in the spring and summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your local animal shelter of rescue.
