Terry Jack Cecil, 57, died August 4, 2020, at his home.
He was born January 24, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio to Terry and Rose Cecil. After spending his childhood in Toledo (an area he loved and adored throughout his life) Terry joined the 82nd Airborne. After traveling to many different places throughout his young adulthood his final move was to Baltimore, Maryland, where he laid his roots, started his career, raised his children and developed lifelong friendships.
Terry had a huge heart and a great passion for helping others. So, it is no surprise that he chose to join the Baltimore City Fire Department in 1990, where he would continue to serve the community for 23 years. He took great pride in his work and received many honors and awards throughout this career.
Terry Jack Cecil was the most kindhearted person on this earth. Like everyone he had his flaws, but he was always very transparent about them and at the end of the day would give his last dollar and the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Terry spent as much time as he possibly could with the people he loved because more than anything that’s what made him happy. He always took a lot of pride in his two children, Hailey and Terry, and would speak about them to anyone who would listen. No matter what they did, as long as they were together, he had a smile on his face. They were his greatest pride and joy and he loved them with all of his heart.
Terry lived his life by his own rules. He always showed people exactly who he was and said take it or leave it. He always said to live your life filled with fun and be your true self without caring what others say. Terry was so goofy; he could make anyone laugh no matter what. It broke his heart when people cried in fact sometimes, he’d cry with them. Terry Jack Cecil is missed more than he ever would have known
Terry loved hard, played hard and lived hard. He touched many lives and has left many memories.
Terry is survived by his 2 children, Hailey Cecil and Terry and spouse Arielle Cecil; his brother and spouse, Jon and Jill Cecil; his sister and spouse, Karen and Eddie Holliday; as well as many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Cecil; his father, Terry Cecil and his sister, Sherrie Cecil.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Sheridan-Hood VFW Post 3065, 1202 Union Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211.
